Palming is a dead simple technique for reducing stress, derived from yoga.
Once again, you can combine it with the pyramid position.
You can do it while sitting cross-legged on the ground, and you can also do it while seated, for example, while sitting at your desk.
Lean forward with your elbows on the desk, and place your hands over your eyes, with your palms pressed lightly against the eye sockets, forming a seal (not too tight, now!).
Settle into the position and hold for 5 minutes.
Palming is mainly associated with relaxing the eyes but the effects go further than that.
Slight pressure on the optic nerve is communicated down to the heart and can slow your heart rate down.
It probably also has a psychological effect of making you feel as if you are sheltering from the outside world, with all its stresses.
